Joyce Hinrichs, Ed.D.
Joyce has a 30 year educational career which spans experiences such as Special Education teacher, Instructor and Principal. She has a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education from Arizona State University, a Master’s in vocational education from Northern Arizona University, and a doctorate from Arizona State University in Educational Leadership.
She has over 30 years of education experience in Arizona, fifteen years as a teacher of students with SLD, ED, and multiple disabilities, and 17 years as a high school administrator, including five years as principal of East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) in Mesa.
She presently works part-time providing weekend camps for mentally challenged young adults served by Department of Developmental Disabilities as well as serving as an educational consultant in several capacities for Arizona State Department of Education.
She is pleased to be serving as Special Education Director this year for Khalsa Montessori School. Joyce will be involved in meetings, training, and student study team discussion with staff members. She will observe classrooms of specific students that need Special Education support and meet with the teachers to plan and support students with disabilities.
