Upper Elementary Teacher
Karen Charleston
Karen joined Khalsa Montessori in 2009 as a full-time substitute. The following year she served as an assistant in Upper Elementary South. This year, she will be in her second year as a teacher in Upper Elementary. Karen graduated from Arizona State University with a B.A. in English Linguistics and a minor in Design Studies. This summer she completed her Montessori Elementary training through CMTE in New York. Karen is enthusiastic about teaching as part of a team with Lindsay Caglio, collaborating on all aspects of the Upper Elementary classroom.
Karen has lived in the valley for over ten years, the longest she has lived anywhere. She comes from a family of native Arizonans. She lives in a little old house with her husband, two dogs, and a cat. She loves arts and crafts, books, and offbeat humor.
