Keerat Giordano
Keerat joined Khalsa School in October 2000 assisting in the Lower Elementary classroom and working with students of all age groups ranging from primary to middle school. In the spring of 2001, Keerat joined Jaswant as her Upper Elementary assistant. Experience as an assistant fuelled her desire to undertake training and work as an Upper Elementary Directress.
Her focused interest is in working with children aged 9 years and above with the intent of bringing a strong science background to the class.
Before joining Khalsa, she volunteered at St Peter’s Mission School on the Gila River Reservation. She has a Master’s Degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry from St. Xavier’s College, Bombay, India and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Connecticut. Keerat completed her Montessori Assistant training through the Arizona Consortium of Montessori Charter Schools.
She completed her lower and upper elementary Montessori training in 2004 through CMTE/NY. She is also pursuing her Masters in Montessori Elementary Education through Ottawa University.
Additionally, she has attended workshops on Special Education in a Montessori Environment, Peace Curriculum in a Montessori classroom and Arizona Science Center Educator’s Workshops.
Some of her personal interests include hiking, traveling, culinary experimentation and learning about different cultures of the world. Recently her traveling experiences have sparked an interest in learning multiple languages.
