Manija Sherzada
Manija started with Khalsa Montessori School as a full time substitute teacher in 2006 and became the Transitional Kindergarten Teaching Assistant in the fall of 2007. Manija has attended ASU West studying Anthropology and Journalism. Before starting with KMS, Manija worked at Gentle Strength Co-op as a cook. She also worked on ASU West's campus newspaper and in the library.
Manija speaks four languages and enjoys working with children. She volunteers with Food Not Bombs (FNB), Amnesty International, and No More Deaths. Manija has a keen interest in human rights and social justice.
Born in Iran, she moved to both Pakistan and The Netherlands, prior to relocating to the United States. She loves learning and being around new ideas. Some of her hobbies include: reading, writing, hiking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Manija hopes to either pursue Montessori training or for a non-governmental organization.
