Mary Erickson
Mary Erickson was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She attended high school and community college there. She continued her education at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and received a B.F.A. in studio arts. She became a starving artist.
After she married, Mary and her husband, Brian, led undergraduate semester programs for the Center for Global Education. They took students to programs in Latin America and Europe. When her children were born she began to study child development. Her own children and her studies brought her to Montessori training.
She has been trained to teach both primary and lower elementary. Her training was through The Center for Contemporary Montessori Programs at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. She taught for seven years at the Academy for Children in Fargo, North Dakota.
Mary joined the Khalsa Montessori School in August of 2001 as Lower Elementary Directress. In 2006, she completed her certification in Special Education and now coordinates special education services for the school, and teaches an after school recorder music class. She is married to Brian Erickson and they have two children, Brian John and Jessi.
