Pamela Argust
Pamela started in 1984 as an assistant to Pam Hogan in the Montessori infant program, and then worked as an outdoor environment teacher. In 1985, she began working with Susan Ritchey as a Primary South assistant where she stayed for 13 years. During this time she took Montessori teacher training through the National Center for Montessori Education that was then in Phoenix. Pamela then was called to go back to New York to attend to her family’s needs while raising her daughter. While in New York, Pamela headed a Montessori classroom and worked with parent education at YWCA Montessori Day School for 7 years.
Pamela’s services have been utilized over the years on the various Khalsa campuses since her return to our school from New York in 2005. She worked at primary as an office assistant to Donna Waters, and as a substitute teacher. She then worked at the Toddler Coronado School as an Assistant Teacher. Completing a full cycle at Khalsa, in 2009-10, Pamela will once again work with Susan Ritchey at Khalsa Elementary.
During Pamela’s time in New York, she continued her education receiving B.A. degree with honors in Women’s Studies and the Arts from Brooklyn College. Pamela’s daughter is an alumnus of Khalsa School who graduated from New York University with a B.F.A honors degree. Pamela’s 25 years of experience working with children, parents, and staff is a legacy to her commitment to the Montessori method of education.
