Graduation 2004
Graduate SpeakerAllyson StodolaEleven years ago, when I was only three years old, I woke up and went to the Khalsa primary school. I made many friends, and though I thought they were games at the time, I did works that were fun, but also taught me a lot. Now, eleven years later I have learned so much more, I've made more friends, but I am also still friends with some of the people I met so many years ago. Every day for the past eleven years I went to Khalsa, and this year it's occurred to me that after this year I will never wake up and go to Khalsa School again. I've had wonderful teachers, and all have taught me unforgettable lessons. Not only math and science, but I've also learned about honesty, and how to accept others for who they are. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to receive an education from Khalsa School, but to also have received the best friendships possible. My friends have always been there to help me through my struggles, and though many will be there with me as I continue on to the next stage of my life next year, there are others that I will for the first time, not see everyday. This will be hard, but I know that our friendships will still remain strong no matter where I go. When ever I have thought about the day I will be departing Khalsa I always thought about how scared I would be to leave, but one thing Khalsa was always taught me was to be open-minded, and to be prepared for new challenges. This is the most valuable thing I have ever learned. I also realized that I will never leave Khalsa. The many wonderful, and not-so-wonderful memories will always be a part of who I am, and without them, I would not be the person I am today. Thank you Jaswant, Rick, Susan, Karen, and everyone else who has been with me over my years at Khalsa, I wouldn't be here today without you. I would also like to thank my parents for always supporting me through everything that I have done. Thank you , Khalsa , for everything. |
